POPTY DAY WORKSHOP

Reduction lino printing with Beth Knight

NEW DATE: Saturday 25 January 2025 • 10am–4pm

A day with printmaking artist Beth Knight @bethknight.art to learn the basics of reduction lino printing.

Tea and coffee provided, please bring your own lunch • Limited to six participants • £60 per person including all materials

Working from her home studio in North Pembrokeshire, Beth creates lino-cut artwork inspired by landscapes and wildlife. Aiming to capture the spirit of the natural world and the story of the landscape in her prints, she uses a variety of printmaking methods to create pieces with depth and atmosphere, developing techniques to capture light, distance and detail. Read more about Beth's practice on her website.

In this one day workshop you will learn the basics of ‘reduction’ lino printing. This is a method of printing in which each colour layer is carved out of the same piece of lino, usually the lightest colour first and the darkest colour last. We will use hand-burnishing methods using a baren and we'll print on the press.

Suitable for adults with little or no printmaking experience.
