You may have seen Carole’s stunning hand-bound books and screenprinted papers at the inaugural Craft Festival Wales back in September. We are delighted to welcome her at Popty to share her expertise.

Books with coptic bindings lie flat on the table when open and so are great as sketchbooks. This looser style of binding allows you to stick a few items onto the pages without stressing the spine. Under Carole’s expert guidance, you’ll create your own hardback sketchbook, choosing from a selection of beautiful handprinted paper to bind the covers. Your sketchbook will have around 80 pages of 140gsm white cartridge suitable for all dry media and light watercolour, interspersed with coloured paper to add interest on the spine. Each completed book will measure around 15 x 21.5cm.

Suitable for adults with little or no bookmaking experience.
